I was referred to this position by my primary doctor. I have cancer and I am in remission. My primary physician found unusual cells in my colon and recommended that I receive an HRA test, which, according to him was a scope that is inserted in your colon to be able to see What it is. Dr Drelichman did a colon resection on me 10 years ago. 2 days post op I spiked a temperature. I begged him to do a CT scan to see if I was leaking at the anastamosis. After a week and begging for something to be done, I finally got my scan. Sure enough, I had to be taken for emergency surgery for a washout and ended up with a colostomy. Dr. Drelichman was my surgeon for the first of two surgeries to remove large intestine (open total colectomy with ileoanal anastomosis) in Birmingham AL 2010. I was one of his last patients here before he moved. I had complications and had to come back and stay in hospital and then have second surgery wayyy too soon, about one month instead of waiting the usual 6 months to heal inside. This Dr was great with one huge exception. He disobeyed my request to test my samples for a very specific bacteria. This bacteria may have been responsible for causing my Crohn's Disease, and I was exposed to it from a product that has since been recalled. Furthermore, class action lawsuits have developed in response to the recall, but I am ineligible to join them, because they want a lab sample showing presence of said bacteria.
